Fun Sunday - Dinner at Golden Kingdom

It was such a beautiful weather last Sunday. The sun was shining, it was not too windy. It was not too cold. It was a perfect day to go outside. Cok and I , and some other friends decided that it wasn't a day that should be wasted exercising in the gym, or becoming a couch potato at home. We decided to hire and ride bikes in Centennial Park.

Fortunately for us it was a CAR FREE DAY. and no car means that we can ride as reckless as we wanted to. Fun Fun Fun. We parked our car, walk around the park for a little bit of warm up, hired 4 mountain bikes. It was 12 dollar per hour per person, but I think it was definitely worth it. I really loved the cool feeling as the wind blown through our face when we were riding the bike downhill. Riding it uphill? Not a fan, but it definitely strengthen my quadriceps muscle.

Eat some Red Rock Deli Chips at home. Red Rock Deli is my favorite chips. I love the thai lime and ginger and Sour Cream and Sweet Chilli. The taste is ZINGGGG. Eat this while watching Blockbuster DVD - Hide and Seek, staring Dakota Fanning and Robert de Niro. It was okay..not a big fan of a movie with **SPOILER AHEAD** people with double personality.

Went to Golden Kingdom, Kensington, for dinner, as part of the "USE AS MUCH AS ENTERTAINMENT DISCOUNT" extravaganza. Went there with Cok, Dre, and cousin Hubert.

Cok, Dre, and Cousin Hubert

We order 3 dishes - Beef and mushroom with blackpepper sauce, Seafood and beancurd hotpot, and Dre, trying to be healthy wants the long bean with XO sauce.

Beef with black pepper sauce - $ 20

This is the most delicious beef with black pepper sauce that I know. It was served with shimeji mushroom. The beef was juicy, and tender. The mushroom has a perfect texture. The sauce was strong of black pepper taste, but not too overwhelming. I can only hope that they give me a bigger portion since everyone loves it!

Seafood and beancurd hotpot in szechuan sauce -$19.80

This dish contains a mixture of silk tofu, prawn, scallop, squid, fish, and some brocolli in szechuan sauce. The seafood was quite fresh. We can tell that it's not just frozen marinara mixture. The beancurd/tofu was light and fluffy, it sort of melt in your mouth. The sauce was a bit oily for me. However the taste was excellent. It was delicious.

Long Bean with XO sauce - $15.60

I hate this dish. I'm not a big fan of chinese vegetable, and for a healthy option, this dish is not healthy at all. It is oily. The bean was hard, and thus, hard to chew. It is bland. It is not a good dish at all.

Before we left, after we paid to be exact, we were given complimentary fortune cookies and fruit ( watermelon and orange). We gladly eat it all up!

COMPLIMENTARY DESSERT - FREE

Overall, it was a fun and exciting day, with the bike ride and the nice weather.

Golden Kingdom was a nice and a slightly more classy restaurant compare to most of its rival in that area. The food, in exception for the long bean was good. The service was excellent, our waiter is always smiling...a bit too friendly maybe :)
